Well, here are some shots of how our Thanksgiving went. We ALL cooked something. I got to cook a Hominy Casserole, the Kids helped their mother make all three Pies, and my wife made the deviled eggs, Pork chops, Green beans wrapped in Bacon, and homemade Bread! What?!?!? No Turkey?!?!? thats right we cant stand Turkey! So, the final menu was:

FoxNews Update! "All Moved In!"

All Moved in!

It all started on a shaky note, When we got to DFW to depart for Mexico we found out that Placy’s passport was missing! it had fallen out in the floorboard of our truck! My parents got it back to us and we made the flight with 10 minutes to spare. We departed to Queretaro and GOD has really been blessing since we arrived! We found our house and our car an hour after we landed ! We have been here in Querétaro now for about a month! It’s awesome! the girls are in Ballet, Logan is playing Soccer for the Chivas (The BEST team in the world!), Placy has started school with the kids, & We are getting to know the people of the church and everyone around us and the city. We have already started inviting people to the house every sunday after Church for lunch and fellowship! We are excited to be here ministering in Querétaro with the Lamberts and the Bedfords as Ambassadors of Christ!

Iglesia Biblica Cristo Salva

I’d like to introduce ya’ll to our Church Christ Saves Bible Church! The church has been around for about 15 yrs. It was founded by a Cam missionary named Ken Hannah (deceased). The Church has one Main Pastor: Pastor Eleazar Escobar Lopez. Paul and Eleazar have been together in ministry, for the last 12 yrs! for 11 of those yrs. they have been working at Cristo Salva. there are about 100 people that attend church regularly. Our main ministries right now are parenting classes, basic Bible studies, Awanas club, and discipleship. There are a lot of new families and the need for these is always high! Paul and Team Mexico (us) also focus on broad based leadership training (btcp) we have two classes going right now. For right now, I am “auditing” or sitting in on most of the ministries and bible studies getting to know the people of the Church and building “confianza” (trust) with them. Remember, you must earn the right to teach with faithfulness and a good testimony! So, please Pray for the LORD to bring me some *FAT Boys soon and that I could start contributing soon! I’m excited to get involved in teaching btcp! The LORD has brought Placy a *FAT girl and maybe two!

The Posession

Early in the morning, Tim got a call from our Pastor (Eleazar) of our church Cristo Salva. There was a problem with a church members son. He was “sick” and needed their help. As they arrived at the house, the mother comes down the stairs yelling “He’s getting worse!” so, they rush upstairs and the son starts shaking all over, and is trying to choke himself. Eleazar jumps on him and pulls his hands from his throat and starts Praying at the boy. The boy, who is usually quiet and has a soft voice now has a deep throaty sound that Eleazar described as “other worldly”. This boys “sickness” is a demon. Eleazar & Tim spend the next two hours praying over the boy, reading scripture and restraining the boy. finally the demon is cast out and the boy is released! they quickly shared the gospel of Christ with him and he joyfully accepted Christ as his saviour. Tim is now meeting with him and discipling him in the way of Christ. Eleazar andTim meet with me the following Monday and tell me the story. Eleazar tells me that “this is just part of the ministry here in Querétaro”! He has done this three other times before! I know that Eleazar and Tim got a brief glimpse of the battle that rages all around us but is kept from our eyes: the Spiritual battle. the spiritual world is real and it is whirling around us as we speak. I beg you, PLEASE, pray for us as we sometimes meet the enemy face to face. Ephesians 6 has a whole new meaning for me now. Pray for Queretaro as it is # 1 in Mexico in Satan worship.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:12-13

Dearly beloved, I just wanted to let yall know that we have bought our Plane tickets! We leave for Querétaro on Sept. 20th at 10:00 a.m.! We Need three more Supporters at $50.00 a month then we will hit 100 % of our support. I’ll try and raise the rest there.

Special Needs

Apart from three Supporters we also have a need for a used car. It is very unsafe to be driving our SUV in Mexico with Texas tags. The Missions office has made it policy that we may not take our vehicles into Mexico (a move I’m way in favor of!). It is way to dangerous. Therefore, we must buy a used car in Mexico. So, we must raise $8,000 for a used car. we have already raised $4,000. Would you prayerfully consider helping us with the cost of the car?

A Busy Month for the Foxes!

We have had a pretty busy month! We had a garage sale in the Colony and then we moved in with my Parents out in Aubrey. We will be staying here till we leave. A HUGE “Thank you” to the Laroque family for letting us stay at their house for the last year! GOD Bless them! Isa & Ale Say "Have a Happy & Safe 4th of JULY"!

Support Update

I am in the middle of trying to get the rest of our support raised so we can get to Queretero. We should be moving in mid-late july. We need 14 more supporters @ $50 apiece until we meet 100% of our support! This letter goes out to over 400 people. My Friend

When we were in Monterrey I met a guy who became a good friend of mine. I discipled him for four years. He was active in IBUC (our Church), he graduated from college, got a great job there in Monterrey and seemed to be doin great. I just found out that he has turned gay. I have sent him a long email begging him to turn back to the LORD, but I haven't heard anything from him. Please take 30 seconds (RIGHT NOW) and PRAY for my deceived friend. Please.

Antes que nada, les quiero dar gracias a todos los que oraron por Placy por un mes.Gracias a Dios Placy no tiene glaucoma. Su enfermedad autoinmune sigue todavia activa.Hace 3 semanas empezo con una nueva medicina (prednisona) y parece que le esta ayudando con el dolor, aunque la fatiga todavia persiste. Por favor oren para que el Senor obre un milagro.

Los ninos estan muy bien. Logan sigue jugando futbol y se esta aprendiendo mucho, siempre tiene una pelota en sus manos, sino es futbol es basquetbol o futbol americano. Isabella es la artista de la familia,escribe historias, dibuja pinta y le encanta ir a Home depot a aprender a construir cosas. Alejandra sigue obsesionada con las danzas y bailarinas. En algunas semanas terminan con el ano escolar (Homeschool). Yo, tengo alto colesterol, asi que estoy tratando de comer mejor.

Estamos alistandonos para irmos a Querétaro! Renovando pasaportes y vendiendo lo que tenemos aqui en Texas. Tenemos que comprar boletos de avion, ya que nuestros lideres aqui en E.U no nos van permitir manejar un vehiculo con placas americanas.
En Queretaro vamos a trabajar con la Iglesia Biblica Cristo salva, va a ser un gran cambio para nosotros, especialmente despues de haber estado en dos ciudades tan diferentes antes (Monterrey y Xalapa).

Dearly beloved,
I wanted to send you an update to let ya’ll know about whats going on with Placy’s health and the family.

Placy’s health

first off, I would like to say thank you to all of to you that said and did Pray for Placy this last month. Thank You and GOD bless you. PRAISE! Placy does not have Glaucoma!! Yay! her doctor said that we will classify her as border line glaucoma but right now, she doesn't have it! Her auto-immune disease is still active and is causing her pain daily but she is learning to live with it. She started a new medication three weeks ago (Prednisone) and it is really helping with her Pain, although her fatigue is still a constant. Please continue to pray for her health and that GOD would do a miracle in her life.

The kids are doin Great. Logan is still playin soccer in the Colony & he is gettig to be really Good! Isabella is quite the artist nowdays & she shows her creativity by writing books, drawing, painting, & going to the Home Depot to lean how to build stuff. Alejandra is obsessed with dancing & ballerinas. She also loves hangin out with Mommy & snuggling with Papi. They will be finishing home school in the next few weeks. I was found out to have high cholesterol the other day, so, I will be trying to eat a low fat diet, exercise, and pray that it goes down.

Going to Querétaro Mexico

We are in the processes of getting ready to go to Querétaro! we are getting our passports updated, getting ready to sell everything here in Texas, buy the plane tickets, and buy a used vehicle in Mexico. Our support is steady & holding at 85%. We need 100% before we can leave. Please pray about joining our team & helping us get to Querétaro.
Some questions about Mexico:
Don’t you know about the Violence in Mexico? YES I DO. trust me, if anyone is watching whats going on in Mexico It is me. the city where we are going is the eye of the hurricane. it’s the “safest” city in Mexico. My confidence is not in Mexico or in man but in the sovereignty of GOD. We are smack in the middle of HIS hands in Mexico or in the U.S. or wherever we go.
Aren't you scared? Yes I am. Soldiers that go off to war are scared too, but they go. We are in the Army of the Living GOD. Where HE sends us, we will go.
How will you get there? We will fly the whole family to Querétaro. There have been some changes in the way we can drive in Mexico. in the past, we could drive our vehicle into Mexico no problem, get a visa for our car which lasted for a yr. we still kept our Texas tags and our vehicle. Now the Missions office has made it policy that we may not take our vehicles into Mexico. Period (a move I’m way in favor of!). It is way to dangerous to have Texas tags in Mexico. Therefore, we
must buy a used car in Mexico with Mexican Tags.

I Was ROBBED!

Dearly beloved,
As I write to you I am sittinng in my living rm. decompressing. I just was robbed. It all started when I left to go to the airport to pick up my good friend & boss, Paul Lambert & his daughter Hannah Leah. We came back into denton and stopped at Texas roadhouse to eat a bit and have some fellowship. We stayed for about two hours. We then left the restraunt and headed over to a dear brothers house so Paul could pick up a car. We got the car and started to shift the luggage over to his car & thats when we saw we had been robbed. The thieves had broken into my truck by punching out the lock on the drivers side & whipped right into my truck. They stole all of Paul & Hannah Leas’s Clothes, Passports, re-entry visas to Mexico, His Computer, Credit cards and various other Very importiant items. Paul was here to take a crisis managent course on conflict & emergency procedures. He now has lost A LOT. I send out this letter and ask that you send up some prayers for my good friend & brother. Querida familia y amigos
Algunos de ustedes nos han pedido que les enviemos esta carta en espanol.
Siendo honestos, hasta ahora este ha sido el ano mas dificil . Placy ha tenido problemas de salud. Hace ocho anos le diagnosticaron Sindrome antifosfolido, tal vez esta fue la causa por la que perdimos a nuestro bebe Nicholas hace algunos meses. Y ahora encontraron otra enfermedad autoinmune, Enfermedad Mixta del Tejido Conectivo (lo que explica el que siempre tiene dolor en alguna parte del cuerpo). Ademas cuando fue a una evaluacion con el oculista, encontro que posiblemente tiene glaucoma.
Ya hace 3 semanas que esta tomando medicamentos, pero va a llevar varias semanas para notar una diferencia en su salud.

Nuestros ninos estan bien, Logan acaba de cumplir 8 anos, esta en 2 de primaria y su pasion es el futbol, juega un partido cada fin de semana. Isabella va a cumplir 7 anos, esta en 1 de primaria, lee y escribe muy bien y le encanta dibujar y hacer preguntas de la Biblia que me hacen rascarme la cabeza? Alejandra tiene 3 anos y medio, es el alma de la fiesta a donde quiera que vamos, siempre anda vestida de princesa o de bailarina y odia los pantalones.
Y yo, continuo levantando el sostenimiento para regresar a Queretaro, Mexico, a menos que Dios nos muestre algo diferente.

COMO PUEDEN AYUDARNOS?

A Fox Family Newsletter: "The Health Issue..."

Placy’s Health

Dearly beloved, To be honest, this has been the hardest year of our lives. We lost our son Nico in the Summer and now Placy has been diagnosed with two autoimmune disease and possibly glaucoma.

Antiphosfolipid syndrome- a condition that can cause clotting within your arteries or veins and various other problems, some life-threatening.
Mixed connective tissue disorder- Pain all over her body, all the time.
Glaucoma- Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that gradually steal sight without warning. In the early stages of the disease, there may be no symptoms. Experts estimate that half of the people affected by glaucoma may not know they have it.

We have had a feeling that there was something wrong for a while. We finally went to the doctor and he diagnosed her with the above diseases. We are in the process of trying to figure out exactly what we are supposed to be doing. I will be continuing to raise support to return to Mexico unless GOD shows us something different.

How can I help?

Please Consider Praying for us for a Month Straight. We understand that ya’ll Pray for us. I am asking for a special month long commitment to pray for us in a very special way.

Please Ask GOD to make straight our path, and for GOD to heal Placy & relieve her pain.

Our State of the Union...

State of the Union Address

“My fellow Americans”...That's how the President of the United States of America addresses us as a nation every year. In the address, he tells us the "State of the Union" or how we are doing. I address you in the same manner today. Why? because some of us have partnered together to serve the LORD in Ministry.

The State of our Union. How is their support & how can we help them?
As you may know, this last year was awful for Americans due to the financal crisis. it has been equally difficult for us on the mission field. Our support has dropped by $1,500 dollars a month. there is no way that we can return to the field until we re-raise this amount. this is one of the reasons that we are back on furlough. you just can’t raise that kind of support from the field. So, here we are. you might be asking "Wow, thats a lot of money, how can I help them"? Well, I have a few ideas.

in the last 6 years many people have left DBC for various reasons and our circle of friends has shrank considerably. You could help us out by hosting a Support dinner. What is a support Dinner? you invite 10 friends, family, mens group, moms group, bible study group, whoever, to dinner. I get to share with them our testimony, our past six years of service and our vision for the future. but please, tell them why they are coming for dinner. to hear about our ministry & to talk about support. the last thing I want is to blindside someone.
help us build a support list! lets sit down togther and come up with a list of 20-25 people that might be intrested in supporting Missions.

The News about Nico...

Dearly Beloved,
Just wanted to let ya’ll know how we are doing. We are doing better. This all started with a regular visit to the the Doctor. we went to see Dr. Cummings in the afternoon. He did an ultra sound and couldn't find the baby's heart beat. He had died. we talked over the options with him and there were three.
Have the baby at home. let her body expel the baby.
DNC.
Give birth at the Hospital.
We chose to go to the hospital. We went to the hospital with in mind, that we would be there for maybe 5-6 hours. Well, we were there about 24hrs. Placy labored for around 10 hrs. and @ 10:40 she had little Nicholas Cole Fox. He was 4.2oz and 7 inches long. We got to see & hold him. He was Beautiful. He had a twisted imbilical cord. That’s how he died. The day before we went to the hospital, we went and bought him a little coffin & Placy made him a little quilt (she has made one for all of our kids). Because he died at 18 weeks, we got his body. So, we took him and then we buried him. We still have our hard days, but we are doin better every day. It’s not like we will ever heal from this. I would like to take the time to say THANK YOU! to all of you that brought food, kept our kids, OFFERED to keep the kids, sent cards, Prayers, and kind words via facebook & twitter. God Bless you all. your Prayers were HEARD & FELT.

The Saddest news to tell...

I just wanted to write to let ya’ll know that yesterday we went to see Dr. Cummings and we found out that our little baby had died. Placy is going into the Hospital be induced and she will have the baby. We don’t know exactly when. ya know, Scheduling.

·How are the kids doing? Good.

·What can you do? I'm not sure. Pray for us. this is a very difficult time for us.

Dearly Beloved!
We made it home safe and sound! thank ya’ll for your prayers. it took 4 days straight of driving (8 hrs. a day!) but we finally made it to Denton! We have been here for almost three weeks. those three weeks have beel full from dusk till dawn with getting cell phones, Insurance for the truck, inspecting it, getting it registered, looking for housing, Selling our X-terra, spoke at a btcp. So its been busy. we are staying out at my parents house in Aubrey for the next month while they are in the Northern part of the United States. We are still looking or housing while we are here over the next 8 months. So, if yall know anyone that has a house for rent, please call us! Ideal location would be in Denton and we can’t pay more than $500 in rent. three bedrooms, Please. We just got our cell phones. Please feel free to call us whenever you would like! Our numbers are:

Why are ya’ll here?

I have been asked more than a few times over the last few weeks “What are ya’ll doin back”?

well, we have been in Mexico serving faithfully for the last 6 yrs. It’s time for break. we need time to rest and evaluate.
Also, this last yr. has been very tough on us in the area of support. The financial crisis has been hard on everybody and that reaches us as well. so, we will be working hard on our support raising also.
I would like to take the family to Arkansas to visit one of our Churches FellowShip Jonesboro & friends there as well.
Rest and reconnect with our friends is also on the list of things that we want to do.
have our 4th baby here in Texas. :)

How long are ya’ll here for?

Every DBC missionary who spends 4 yrs overseas gets one year of home service. Which is AWESOME! home service is not vacation! it’s work. I will be working here at the missions office over this next few months helping to develop a plan on how to reach the 30% non English speaking (see Spanish) Population. I will also be spending some of my time at Vision Ministries. While we are working here in the States we will be getting paid from our support account. Please understand that your support, while we are here, is VERY IMPORTANT! Thank Ya'll so much for your prayers on the way back to Texas and your support in these hard times. GOD Bless ya'll

Howdy Ya'll!

Placy is Pregnant!!
Yes, thats right! We are extremely blessed to be waiting the arival of Baby Foxy! Placy is two months along and all seems to be well! Placy is really battling nausea but other that that, she is doing well. The Kids are really excited! they are continually talking to baby Foxy(read Placy's belly!). We are Moving!
The Plans were to start moving on the 18th of May. Well Things have changed a bit! It loosks like we will be making the move to Queretero to put the house in Storage for 10 months, on the 30th of April! My fm3 visa expires on the 14th of May. So that means that we have to be in Texas on the 14th! We had already started the packing processes at the first of the month but there is still a ton to do before the 30th. Thats just two weeks away! Please pray for us!

We will be leaving Xalapa Soon. We are thankful to the GREAT GOD ALMIGHTY for the wonderful time HE has given us here in this city. a great two years of ministry, friendship, trials, & triumphs. Thank ya'll fo being apart of our team! Just a few photos GOD has put in our life these last two yrs.

Merry CHRISTmas Y'all! As I write to y'all we are 1 day away from Christmas. The excitement level is high on everyones part! My beautiful wife will soon begin to cook the beloved Birthday cake for Jesus. We will open the presents and play all the day long. We will eat a big dinner hang out together, drink coffee, watch the kids, laugh and play and it will be awesome. I pray that we would never loose our focus on why we celebrate CHRISTmas. Not the presents, not the food, not the fellowship but JESUS CHRIST. The REAL reason for the season. During this month of celebrations, Party's, and whatnot, Please don't loose focus on why we celebrate. GOD became man and dwelt among us! Immanuel. May the King receive the Glory due HIM this Christmas. From the Fox family and from yours also! GLORY be unto the King Jesus!

One of the girls that Placy is disciplining has to do community service at an Orphanage. She invited us to go with her and hang out with the kids. There are 13 boys of varying ages. Placy & the kids baked cookies for them and we donated some used clothes to the boys. We got everything ready to go and on the way there we got hit by a taxi! He about took off the front end of the X-Terra. After a few good well placed kicks the the bumper everything was fine and we were on our way. We got there a bit late but in Xalapa that means on time! We had about 6 people from our church show up. Jorge (my FAT Boy) got up and shared the Gospel of Christ with them, Julio sang some songs and Logan, Isa, & Ale, handed out presents. It was a really great time. I thank GOD Almighty that HE allowed us to be a blessing to those poor kids. Why Poor Kids ? Because they have NOTHING but each other. No mom & dad to hung them at night, to love on them. They will spend CHRISTmas Alone. Please pray for them and everyone else that is less fortunate than us. We have had a family that is attending IBUC once a month. They live 10 hrs away. They come into town because the son (Fernando 10yrs old) has leukemia. Our Elder Don Cesar & I got to share the gospel with them at Church this time. They made no descion, but Salvation is a work of the LORD. We just need to share when the opportunity presentes itself. We already had planned to invite the Jovenes to the house for the Superbowl of Mexican Futbol (Soccer), so we invited them also & they came! I wish I had a picture I could share with yall of Fernando's face. Pure happieness! As he played with Logan & his friends at the house. We fed them WELL then they left for the bus station to start their 10hr ride home. Please pray for the health & salvation of this family. GOD knows them and desires that they come to know HIM.

Dearly beloved, It's been a while. Thank ya'll for being patient with us! I kinda wanted to do somethin a little different that in the past I hope y'all enjoy. This was what our summer looked like.

Our Summer...

We received in three teams this summer, two from FBC Jonesboro & one from DBC. We painted, shared the gospel, hung out and encouraged the youth group, we have traveled to Denton (2,000 mile round trip drive!) for the Missions conference, broke down on the way, spent three days in hotels waiting, had a great time with our family, spent Memorial day with good friends, had a fish fry with my uncle a week before he died, went to Chihuahua to see the family, lost a niece in Chihuahua, I had emergency knee surgery in Xalapa, lived thru the initial round of the Swine Flue, Watched as our son started futbol, and our daughters start swimming. preached @ a youth retreat an saw 8 come to know Christ as their saviour, Preaching thru 1 Timothy in the Church, I turned 41, celebrated 8 yrs of Marriage, taught my son how to fish, moved from Xalapa to Coatepec, painted the church, painted the girls room, Painted Selvas house, finally got my work visa, exercised church disciple on an Elder, added one more FAT Boy, had our truck fixed, fixed the Black Pearl (my Scooter), hosted numerous important futbol games, continually encouraging the body, Got a new grill for the hospitality ministry and I got glasses.

Coming home...

Well, I need to tell ya'll that we will be coming home sometime in March. the reasons are two fold.

1st, for every four years of service over seas, DBC wants the Missionaries to come back to serve a "Home service" tour. This recharges the battery's of the Missionaries & helps them to reconnect to their Church & their supporters. we have served faithfully in Mexico for the last 5 1/2 yrs. so our time is due to return for a bit.

2nd, Over this last year, we have lost a lot of our monthly support. so our goal when we return to Denton will be Get our support back up to where it needs to be, spend some good time with ya'll, and serve the body there at Denton Bible! Please remember, we live off of your support, in the field AND at home. Immediate Needs? we need furnished housing. preferably in Denton. our family is 5 (and no we don't Smoke). As ya'll know, we have been alone here in Xalapa for the last two yrs. there was no Team Mexico. Well, now we have our new team leader in Paul Lambert! Paul and his family are in central Mexico in a city called Querétaro. Once we get our support raised, we will be moving to Querétero to join Team Mexico! Our team will be Paul & Deniese Lambert, Tim & Tona Bedford & Bryan & Placy Fox. it has been such a pleasure serving our Lord and Saviour here in Xalapa. Thank ya'll for your support.

What in the world are we doing?

FBC Jonesboro Missions trip: we just said good buy to the fellows from FBC Jonesboro. They spent 5 days here ministering to the people of Xalapa. We went to the Lost City and had a two day medical campaign along with a futbol game or two & a gospel Presentation to about 55 kids! Then we had a taco shindig & invited all of the unbelieving friends of our youth group. We had 10 show up and that 10 was exactly the ones GOD had appointed to be there. Robby Fowler held an in depth time of Q&A for the Chavos. After it was over we cooked tacos and had a great time of fellowship (for a more in depth report on that story check out below).

FAT boys: My FAT boys study has been suspended for the last few weeks because of the planning of the FBC Jonesboro trip that has come in to Xalapa along with the fact that we are house hunting.

BTCP: I am in a BTCP study with the pastor & Elders & their wives on Thursday night. We are studying book 3 New Testament survey: Revelation. All Thats about to change I think (see the next point). We have the study at Julio & Ericas house.

Erica: Erica, Pastor Julios wife, Just found out that she has Breast Cancer. They did a biopsy, and then called her into the hospital and then next thing that we know, she had a breast removed, they found more cancer, and we are awaiting the results of that test. PLEASE pray for her. She is 30yrs. Old and has three little girls. Yamilet 9, Abigail 6, & Ruth 3. She is one of Placys closest friends here in Xalapa.

Church Fellowship: What does it look like in Mexico? Well, we are far from a Mega church, so it looks a bit different than what you would think. Two examples that have happened recently:

Cookin out @ Letys: One day after church, one of the older ladies came up to Placy & I and said that we need to do a carne asada (cook out) for the New year. We all agreed and started inviting people to the cook out the following Sunday. After Church the next week we bought all of the meat and Charcoal, and such and drove out to Letys house in the Country. I cooked for bout 40 some odd people and bout 35 came! It was an Awesome time. We love cookin out for anybody! GOD has blessed us with the ability to serve in that kind of capacity.

USA vs Mexico: This is the biggest event of the year here. The rivalry between these two countrys is so intense. I live for this game. We have beat Mexico the last 10 yrs. When playing in the US. If ya wanna wear out a Mexican ask them about the US/Mexican games! They hate worse than anything than to loose to us in Soccer. Anyway, we had a group of 15 or so Chavos over to the house for the Game. We cooked for them, had good conversation and then, the US whipped them in soccer 2-0! They Hated me! I loved it. I just didnt hoot the second US goal as loud as I could have out of a deep love & respect for my wife! We try and lead the way by example when it comes to hospitality ministry. Or any ministry for that matter. I personally think this is huge if you are not a Mega Church. If not, you will only see the people from Church on Sunday. Believe it or not, this is an extremely difficult thing for the Xalapeno mind to grasp! Why do we need to meet outside of church? we try and host at least two events or dinners or whatever a month at our house, praying that they get it!

Fox Family: How are we?

We celebrated Logans 6th b-day! He loves futbol (soccer) & we are lookin at him going to a futbol school asap. Los Pumas de Coatepec! We also just celebrated Isas 5th b-day party ! She had a Strawberry shortcake Piñata and she got a pair of walki-talkies! Go figure! She is the little artist of the family. She love building, drawing, and a show called Art attack. Alejandra is 1 yr and 7 months and is still as wild as the day is long! I have nick named her the Apache. She loves shaking it on the table to any Music! My Placy is the Queen of the house! She takes care of the kids & me, she is the school teacher and Chef AND she is discipling two girls on the side! SHE is AWESOME. I love snuggling with her on the couch watching futbol! We still BATTLE with a date night! Almost 8 years & I still havent got it right. I just turned 41.

Hey ya’ll,
we would love to tell you about what has been going on with us! We just said good buy to a wonderful team from FBC Jonesboro Arkansas! There were five guys: Chuck & Robby (Two of the Pastors), Steve (a Doctor) Chris (pharmacist) & Bill (a Nuclear Physicist)! It was a Great trip! They arrived on time in Vera Cruz 11:30 p.m. By the time we got to the hotel it was 1:30 a.m. The next day we met at our house for Orientation and lunch. As we were finishing up, I told them “If you think Spiritual warfare doesn’t exist, just keep watching” as we were heading out to go visit a place called by the locals “Cd. Perdida” or the lost city, my check engine light came on (Bad News). What could I do? We kept going. We did a medical brigade there at the lost city and more than a few people showed up to see the Doc. While the rest of us fanned out to play with the kids. Logan had brought his futbol and in about 30 seconds we had a game on with the locals! the Doc. treated some patients & we built confidence with the local kids through the day. We finished up there at about 6 in the evening and came home. I dropped off the team and my check engine light started flashing (Worse News). What could I do? I am the only transportation we had. Or so I thought. The next day: we had a whole passle load of people ready to go to the lost city on the way there, my truck dies (The Worst News)! Chris is a wanna be mech. So he starts to mess with it. To no avail. We called a tow truck. After 2 hors of waiting on the side of the highway (the event at the lost city is underway without me & Chris) the tow truck finally gets there. Its a Brand new tow truck. He loads up the X-terra, and we go about ¼ mile and the brand new tow truck dies. We had to call a tow truck for the tow truck. Weird? Coincidence? I call it spiritual warfare. the team at the lost city shared the gospel with 55 kids and various other people & I got to share the gospel with the tow truck driver! I call that successes! GOD gave us miracle after miracle. With transportation, with events, with everything! just when I thought “Hijole, this aint gonna work”. GOD blessed us with miracles. Chuck, the Pastor at FBC, asked me: “How were you encouraged by our trip”? I had to answer “by the amount of spiritual warfare we saw”! I mean we were doing exactly what GOD wanted and what Satan hated. I was also encouraged by the provision of GOD. When we think everything rest on our shoulders GOD shows us it doesn’t. He’s got it all under control. My truck was the only truck we could rely on. Period. There was NO Other. GOD brought us two guys who wanted to nothing more than help this trip out with rides! My truck was in the shop for 5 days and they finally found that the distributor was bad. That’s what they said. I got my truck back and it runs fine. I don’t know what to say other than Praise GOD for HIS goodness!
Prayer Request:
• I would ask that ya’ll Pray for those kids in the lost City & for the driver of the Tow truck
• We are looking for a new house. Pray that GOD would go before us and take us to the perfect house at the perfect price.
• Pray for our Elders wife. She has Breast cancer and has already had one breast removed. She is 30 something with three kids. Her name is Erica & his name is Julio.
• Pray for Safety for our family in these violent times in Mexico.
• We would like to buy a house someday. Pray that the LORD might do a miracle & provide the land and $$.

The Crazy Idea of Fasting in '09

Jesus did not say, “If you fast...” but “When you fast...” (Matthew 6:16). This will be new (even over the top) for some of you. So do a crazy thing in 2009. It might change your relationship with God. And your life.

Here’s a tiny bit of help. A bit on how. And a bit on why.

How to Fast

Pick a day of the week or a day of the month and plan to fast in 2009. Plan which meal or meals to skip. Skip them entirely, or do it with only juice or only water. There are no rules. There is only spiritual hunger being spoken and stoked with physical hunger.

Take some of the time you would have spent eating and read some scripture and take time to tell God why you are doing this and what you long for.

Why Fast?

Here are six biblical aims for fasting.

1. For Jesus to come back

Matthew 9:14-15

Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?” 15 And Jesus said to them, “The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast

2. For help in a new venture in ministry
Matthew 4:1-2

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry.

Acts 13:3

Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

3. To avert some danger or threat
Ezra 8:21

Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our little ones, and all our possessions.

2 Samuel 12:16

David therefore inquired of God for the child; and David fasted and went and lay all night on the ground.

4. To express sorrow and loss
2 Samuel 1:12

They mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and his son Jonathan and for the people of the LORD and the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword

1 Chronicles 10:12

All the valiant men arose and took away the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons and brought them to Jabesh, and they buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.

5. To express repentance and grief for sin
Joel 2:12-13

“Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning; 13 And rend your heart and not your garments.” Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness And relenting of evil.

6. Not for the praise of men
Matthew 6:16-18

Whenever you fast, do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they neglect their appearance so that they will be noticed by men when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face 18 so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Howdy yall!
We sure Hope yall are enjoying these Happy CHRISTmas holidays. Not happy holidays, not happy solstice, not happy hanukkah, not happy kwanza...but happy CHRISTmas Holidays. After all, CHRIST is the reason for this Season (and every other for that matter!)!

Fox Family Thanksgiving:

We would love to share with yall a little of whats been going on in our world these past few months. Several of yall have asked us if Mexicans celebrate Thanksgiving here in Xalapa. Well, the Mexicans dont but the Fox Family sure did! Placy bought a smoked Turkey & cooked it up, but she also made Mexican corn bread (full o Jalepenos!), green beans, deviled eggs, a sweet potato Pie, and last but not least a Pecan Pie! We ate good and did not sin&I think. The next day Two of our friends who are Missionaries in the Sierra Mountains (Placys ol Stompin grounds!) came to visit for a few days. We got to show them the sights of Xalapa and they got to take a fully deserved rest. It was a great time of Thanksgiving for us all!

IBUC Church wide Picnic/CHRISTmas Tree Cutting:

Yes, we had a Picnic with the whole Church! It was Awesome! It was classical Mexican lateness (2hrs.) and mass confusion, but it actually worked! We went to a place up in the mountains an hour away, called Ciclo Verde (the Green Cycle) and it was beautiful! We (about 45 of us) went hunting the CHRISTmas tree of our choice, cut it down and had it wrapped up and packed up on top of our trucks. We wondered around the forest basking in the wonderful creation of GOD and then we went to the picnic area and had a HUGE Church Wide Picnic! I decided that I was not going to cook that day, but as it turned out, I had to. Don t worry, Im always happy cooking! Theres just something about a picnic! Everyone was happy, not a complaint out of anyone! Fellowship is truly food for the soul.

Two Months of Visitors!

Well It started out with my Mom & Dad! They came to see us and they stayed with us for 11 days! We got to show them the Sights of Xalapa and we took them to see the Pyramids at Tajin, stayed on the beach for a day, and then went to a little town called Naolinco and bought some Leather goods. After my parents left, we had my old pastor from IBUC Monterrey come in and stayed with us for two weeks meeting with Pastor Sergio and the elders of IBUC Xalapa encouraging them to continue on in the faith. After they left we had Belinda & Josefa in from the Mountains of Chihuahua and last but not least John Brown, Tim Ford & Paul Lambert came in and stayed for about four days. Their visit was awesome and much appreciated. It was good to see someone from home.

US!

We are doin Mighty good! Comin up on our 1st Christmas here in Xalapa (Yes, we will stay here for Christmas). We are adjusting quite well to Xalapa. Placy is doing awesome as a teacher to the kids! They are just about to Christmas break. They are learning tons! Logan will be turning 6 in 2 months! He is loosing his teeth like crazy. He will be able to sing that song: All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth . He excels at ALL sports. Of course Futbol (soccer) is his favorite, but is happy playing football, basketball, hockey, baseball, or anything else. Isabella turns 5 in 3 months and loves all kinds of artsy stuff, playing cooking and building stuff with blocks. She is an artist. Alejandra is 1yr. and 4 months old. Contrary to Logan she is getting all of her teeth at once! Her favorite things include Mommy, The rest of the Family, the chickens outside of the house, the dogs too, FOOD, baby dolls, and her sleepy bear! Placy & I are doing Great! Its still a struggle to get a regular date night, but we are trying! We have been married now for 7 yrs. And some change! Between the LORD, each other, the kids, school, ministry, we are busy! Thank yall for partnering with us in this massive work for the LORD! We truly hope yall have a great CHRISTmas!

I would like to tell you of two or the greatest ever answered Prayers! When We were packing to come to Xalapa, Logan had found a gift that Ed Jones had given me about 7 years back. It is called an Evangecube. He asked Placy what it was and she started sharing with him the Gospel of life. It’s not like the kids haven’t heard it before. We try to teach them everyday about the grace of GOD. But on this day, when he saw the picture with man shaking hands with GOD and heaven above and Hell below, he asked Placy: “Mommy, what’s that fire for?” and of course she called me and told me that Logan was askin about Hell. So I told her when I get home, I’ll talk to him about it. When I got home, I sat down with him and explained to him about Hell and what happens o people that don’t believe that Jesus is GOD & they don’t accept HIM as LORD and Savior. He quickly told me that he didn’t want to burn forever and that he Wanted GOD to live inside him. So we prayed that very moment & I believe in my heart that my son was Saved on that day! Praise the LORD!

Isabella two months later. Placy was giving them reading lessons and the word “Old” came up. Isabella asked her: “What is old mommy?” so Placy explained that we all will get old and die one day and go to heaven to be with Jesus or to Hell to burn forever. Of Course Isabella started crying and asked Placy what she needed to do to go to heaven to be with Jesus. So that day Isabella prayed to Jesus and asked him to forgive her of her sins and to save her. Praise the LORD that ya’ll are so faithful to pray for us! GOD has heard our prayers & ya’lls also! Two of our children are saved! One to go. Now maybe you say: “Oh whatever! They are just Children. They don’t understand!” but I say to you: Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Road Trippin in Mexico...

You are always aware that you are in another country. But you never realize how alone you really are until you take a trip by yourself. By “take a trip” I don’t mean down to the store…No, I just got back from a 2,000 mile trip from Xalapa to Monterrey and back…by myself! Now, Road trippin is nothing new to me. I’m from Texas, where a trip to the store is a road trip! But, this was something completely different. As I was leaving Xalapa it started to hit me: “I’m Alone!” I was afraid but by the time I reached the great Mango groves along the lush green Coast of Veracruz, I was a little more at ease with Willie Nelson’s “blue eyes cryin in the rain” echoing in the valleys. As the highway was winding Past the costal Nuclear power plant, Guy Clark was singing “Tornado time in Texas” and nearing Cerro Azul the people were staring at the white X-Terra with King George (Strait for you who don’t know who the king is.) blaring out the windows. Yes, my music was a comfort to me, but not anywhere near as a comfort as the Great GOD Almighty traveling right there with me, guiding me every step of the way. HE tested my faith in the middle of Tampico (where I got lost for a couple of hours) but HE showed me the way, and we finally made it to Monterrey 16 hours later! Why, might you ask , did you take a 16 hr. trip to Monterrey by yourself? Well, you just can’t come to Mexico and start working, you have to go and apply for a FM3 work Visa. The process was started before we left for Xalapa but I had to return for the final interview. I was told that I would have it that day by the Lawyer, but that didn’t happen. So after waiting 7 days with no results and missing my family somethin terrible, I caught a cheap flight back to Vera Cruz, caught a bus to Xalapa, caught a taxi to my house and finally got to see my family! A week later the lawyer called and old me he had my FM3 Visa in his hand. So I caught a cheap flight to Monterrey, where Wes picked me up and we went to get it. I then had to drive to the border to get a permit for the truck and I was ready for the trip home! I said goodbye to Team Mexico for the last time as that would be the last time we were all together. Wes has taken a job as a Worship Leader at Redeemer Fellowship in Kansas City, MO. Phuong is Looking at going to China or Argentina, Tim & Tona and Memo & Suzi are returning to start MTI & raise the rest of their support, then return to Mexico in the next couple of years. Soooo, Placy & I are team Mexico until 2010! We truly covet your Prayers!

Yes, I bought a scooter. It is the bomb...I think. I am still waiting for it to arrive. Scooters are very popular here in Xalapa. I expect tremendous savings on Gas! Please pray for my SAFETY!

What a Challenge! I am Teaching our kids to read in English. We are using the book above and it is excelent! It is very tough to teach kids. My respects to teachers. We are on the 14th lesson and the kids can identify 9 different letters, various words and can read one sentence. Please pray for this work. Sometimes it can be a whip! Pray for Patience for me and the kids and that i would teach well and that they would learn well also.

I just wanted to write to let ya’ll know that yesterday we went to see Dr. Cummings and we found out that our little baby had died. Placy is going into the Hospital be induced and she will have the baby. We don’t know exactly when. ya know, Scheduling.

·How is Placy Doing? Not good.

·What can you do? I'm not sure. Pray for us. this is a very difficult time for us.
